Tournament Report - Day One

R played two games today, at 12 pm and 8 pm (what?? Who scheduled these games??). Since she's guest playing for her former coach and team, she's not too invested in the end result, which is nice. At the noon game, they tied 0-0.

After the game: lunch at the Sea Tac mall. Then, since no one slept particularly well the night before, we rested and snacked until the next game, which they lost 0-1.
I've been having fun spending time with S. She's a great kid and a wonderful friend to R. It's cold, and R and Hubby are expected to be at the fields well before the games start for warm-ups, so S and I have had to get creative so that we're not stuck there at the stadium getting cold or sitting in the car for an hour. Before the first game, we went to T*rget for groceries, and for the second game, we visited the lobbies of nearby hotels. Yes, weird, but it was fun. There weren't many open businesses nearby.

R's 8 pm game was held at the same set of fields where C and his team won the state championship two years ago, just as the pandemic was about to explode and change everything. C was so sick and Hubby thought it was covid. I was skeptical, but looking back, it might have been after all.
