The New Job

C and his old buddy Ethan, Barbara's son. C and I are now one of four mother-child combos working at the shop. Pretty cool.

C is doing great at his new job. His official title is "production support" and he spent the day learning to iron binding and mask pieces, and to sanitize our "touchy" surfaces with Ethan. He's fun to work with (proud mama moment) - he learns quickly, works well, and once had Nadia laughing pretty hard. I think this will be a good fit for him. 

And, as of today, I am officially a member of the production team - no more shipping. Shipping was fun and a great way to learn new skills and gain confidence, and I'll miss working with Barbara, but at the moment, she doesn't need my help and production really does.

It's been a great transition. I love sewing, I love the production people, and somehow sewing the same pieces over and over again is so much easier than I thought it would be. Watching the production team in the past, I just knew I would die of monotony, but so far no deaths have occurred. I'm surprising myself! It's a fun job and an awesome, positive atmosphere.

Mask of the day: my Yvonne mask. I love Yvonne. I mentioned how much I loved this pretty floral fabric and she took a scrap of it and made masks for herself and me, with this burgundy binding that really sets off the colors. She wore hers today too so we could be twins. ❤

Fingerwatch:

The part that's flaking off, I'm not excited about. I keep going after it with the clippers, but I can only go so far. I may have to put on a Band-Aid again so it won't catch on things and kill me off.

I think I was stressing out about C's first day, because after work, I was so tired. We had Costa Vida for dinner and I dozed through Jeopardy! and ended up going to bed early. It was a very good day.
