It was an uneventful Sunday, apart from having to take Hubby's bag of soccer balls over to the field so the team could play their game. For Sunday games, he has arranged for his co-coaches, Chris and Dom, to coach the team. I am very appreciative.
Then I took Hubby and the kids to church in two trips, since again, we're using Brennan's Swift to get around in and even considering breaking seat belt laws, there's no way we can fit all seven of us into that "clown car" as it has been nicknamed (Brennan named it Homer, officially). We were late to church, which was too bad because a couple we've known and loved for years, the Rhy...s, were the speakers. They're leaving for a year-long mission to Hong Kong next week, to serve in the temple (one of my favorite temples).
I taught my Beehive lesson and Hubby taught his first official Elders Quorum fourth Sunday lesson. Brother Sto.. and I chatted for a few minutes in the library about Hubby's new calling and how glad they were when he accepted it, especially since the fourth Sunday lessons are based on a conference talk and have no manual or lesson plan. "He's like me - he loves to hear himself talk," I joked. Hubby really does enjoy teaching.
The Bar...s helped us with a ride home for Hubby and Bella. Brother Bar... came over one evening about ten days ago and asked if he could fix Charlotte, our white minivan. We would just have to buy the parts. Gee, twist our arm! What a kind and generous gift! He is out of work right now and is trying to keep busy, and loves working on cars. Charlotte had a myriad of things wrong with her which will hopefully soon be fixed. In the meantime, as we experience enormous price hikes on gas, we are grateful our only working car gets such great gas mileage.
After church, I got busy working on this blog - transferring old family-related posts from there to here, changing names, editing. That took most of the afternoon. We also played the five-things-pickup game until the living room looked better. The kids took turns playing video games, and finally everyone's cookie-begging took effect and I made chocolate chip cookies. Hubby, Carter and Rosalind worked on the kitchen for me first. Now that I'm working so much, I'm not as available for maid duty.
Bella went to a YCL meeting with Bradley.
