Child #2 and I have decided that our former religion trained us to behave as extroverts even as we existed as introverts - public speaking and performing, approaching and conversing with strangers, and dancing while sober are things I have no problem doing. But, if there's a choice of being with people or staying home and being alone, or doing things solo, the "being with people" is not happening (except with my loved ones, of course). Basically, Child #2 and I are librarians, and I have the added "go nowhere at night" deal going on.
To sum up: I'm leaving a reminder for myself here - no more "joining groups" stuff (genealogy groups are the exception - they tend to meet monthly, during the day). I'm just a weird little weirdo who likes her weird things, and likes doing them mostly by herself. Going out at night with people = not my favorite. If I did tell people about the things I like doing, I doubt they'd hang around for a second conversation - not because the things I do are bad; they're just strange. I hereby accept this about myself.
In other news: two of the three Huge Trippy Things that I spent most of 2026 stressing out about have now been completed, which were The Cruise, The Camping Trip, and The Wedding Reception in our old stomping grounds. The reception is this Saturday and will hopefully be embarrassing incident-free, but it's MY family, so you just never know. The sibs and I enjoyed our camping trip very much and I'm excited to see them again, but our older relative will be at the reception and yeah, I'm sure things will go fine, but again... YOU JUST NEVER KNOW. And, yikes.
But where everything else is concerned, just like Humpty Dumpty, I'm having a great fall.
