After missing a number of rehearsals, I was texted by Sweet Judy (see? it's like church all over again, but I know other organizations do this, and I know I'm being unreasonable, but to my body it FEELS the same), and I let her know that my work schedule will not allow me to continue with the choir. I also told her that I would love to join them again, if my schedule should ever change. It won't until I quit or retire, but does that need to be spelled out? I think not.
Judy was very gracious, told me I have a "great voice," and said I'd be welcome back any time. Great news.
In the meantime our Wednesday night coworker dinner group is growing, and I love having fun hang out time with my coworkers. That, combined with the usual family and friend times, feels like all the church I need.
