Hood River Day

Starting our Sunday off right with some farmers market. R missed out yesterday on getting a cheese stick from Julia Bakery, so we came back to get one for her and stayed to enjoy some time with the Grand-Ladies. B, R, H & Alexis came too.

After dropping off the babes, we headed east. Alexis had never seen Vista House, so we wanted to take her. Approximately 17,000 other folks had the same idea, so we couldn't park and go in, but we had a beautiful drive down the old highway.

Here's a quick snap of the waterfall trolley which looks really fun and is now on our agenda.
We stopped at full sail brewery for lunch, which was incredible.
We had so much fun walking all over town and visiting the little shops.
As we were driving to Hood River, sadly, a wildfire started on the Washington side of the river in Skamania county. Wildfire planes were dropping loads of water on it all day and they were still working on it as we left for home. It was huge.
On the way down the gorge, Alexis had noticed a Dairy Queen with a huge inflatable Blizzard on its roof, and wanted a picture, so we stopped there for dessert on the way home. I love how much it feels like she's one of my own kids.

We were getting into the car in the DQ parking lot when R started bumping into the rest of us like she was a pinball and grunting. Pretty soon all six of us were doing it to each other, in view of all the folks who were in the drive-thru at DQ. Fortunately no one called the cops.

After arriving home, R and I visited the laundromat. Card games were played.

What a great day. I love my family!
