Roz and I were just not feeling it today. She and I were at cross purposes pretty much all morning long, and she finally broke down and said her tummy hurt and was hurting at school yesterday as well, so I let her stay home. At any rate she got a mental health day out of it.
Sick Child means lots of sitting on the couch, so I didn't get much done today, but I did get some nice financial research done. We have plans for payday, and I applied for a new savings account online. I also researched and thought about new income streams... choices, choices. As Boss called this morning and told me "things are slow" and I'd only be working one day this week, it's a timely topic.
I also look at Craigslist every day to check out gigs around town. Nothing has popped up yet that I feel like I can do, but I was very close to sending an email about a housecleaning job... not quite ready to jump in and do it yet. I thought about, on payday, getting some business cards and fliers made and passing around the neighborhood - what better place to work? All in all, feeling very positive and hopeful for the future.
A discussion with Melanie about Rush Limbaugh's unfortunate "slut" comment and health care is what spurned this activity, by the way. Not that I don't already think about upping my income a lot anyway. This was just today's impetus. I have discovered an entrepreneur spirit hiding away, and she's dying to get out and go nuts. It's just deciding what to do.
I ventured out to the post office to pick up Kristy and Steve's Christmas package to us. We're all terrible about being on time for the holidays anymore. Afterward, I went to Bi-Mart and enjoyed the flowers and garden-y stuff, and read that Lenny Kravitz will play Cinna in the "Hunger Games" movie. LOVE HIM!
Carter went to a local trampoline "park" with his friend Ethan after school. Harrison had his technology club meeting, which he always enjoys. Brennan seemed better today.
Bella and Hubby had soccer practice, and once we were all home, we opened Kristy and Steve's Christmas package to us. I received a Christopher & Banks denim jacket for Christmas and socks and a Kohl's card for my birthday - she sent Carter's birthday stuff too.
I finished reading Mockingjay (sob, what a GREAT series), and yeah, life is good. Rosalind is happy to go to school tomorrow.
