So. Much. Yardwork.

Such a gorgeous day for it!

My finger is almost healed. It got dirty today:

My pretty house:
My trusty weedeater:
And eat weeds, it did. It also edged around the driveway, the sidewalk, and along the curb. Then I swept the clippings into piles and Hubby came outside (he's working from home today, due to the riot situation in Portland) and helped me bag them up.

Between tasks, I gave Bella a ride to the Department of Licensing to renew her car's tabs, so she's legal again. We brought home lunch for Hubby and R as well.

Seeing Wal-Mart closed and pallets piled up to block the doors and the empty parking lot was the eeriest thing:

Other gardening exploits today included weeding, and cutting down the daffodil and grape hyacinth foliage, in the garden bed by the driveway; and killing the CRAP out of the ivy vines that have been suffocating one of our holly trees for who knows how long - probably for years, by the looks of things. Cutting those monsters away and leaving a nice bare tree trunk was unbelievably satisfying.

Now I'm dirty and have a headache, so it's time to shower and chill for a while - maybe outside again. I love our place!

Later: We took C to the "sports parade" the senior committee set up for all the school athletes to receive their end of year stuff. Poor C missed out on playing soccer this spring - it would have been four years on the varsity team. Sadness.
C took off with his friend Sebastian. Hubby and I ventured down to Jantzen Beach Target to pick up our new hair-grabbing vacuum. Target is also riot-ready:
Then we needed ice cream, so we picked up the girls and headed to Cold Stone. On the way, someone had the bright idea to grab dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory (after eating ice cream), and H is working tonight. So when Hubby called to place our order, H answered and made us order food for him too. So funny.
