This morning I went to work still bearing some residual emotional grossness from yesterday, but the day improved as I kept being handed new tasks to try.
Adding binding to masks is my new skill of the day. It looked so intimidating, watching my co-workers do it (especially Chelo), but once Yvonne showed me how, it was pretty easy.
Whoever invented this cool way of making binding and sewing it onto stuff is my hero. Dang it's fun.
And then: Yvonne put me to work serging part of the Buttercup masks. This is a bit of a milestone because all I've sewn so far are the donation masks (above). I'm not in love with this serger but it's cool that I've been entrusted with Liberty of London fabric now.
And THEN: I serged pieces made with my newest favorite fabric, another Liberty print called "Winston". Nick assured us that he set aside fabric for twelve medium masks, just for the employees. Color me happy. I love the lizards, and the blues and greens! It's such a fun happy pattern:
C stayed home sick from work today and requested a sausage breakfast burrito from his favorite Mexican place, Muchas Gracias. While there, I nabbed a bean and cheese burrito and was very happy with it.
Where I've landed with the Neighbors From Hell situation is in a big ole sloppy puddle of pity for them. We can always fix up our property and fulfill our homeowner duties to a higher degree. Eventually our kids will move out and take their cars with them. But the neighbors will always be victims of their own paranoia and terrible assumptions about people. And we'll never be friends with them after this. It's too bad; we could have had a nice relationship with them if they hadn't been so insane.
Later: Hubby and I went looking for heavy duty yard debris bags and had fun dreaming of future projects at Home Depot. I bought a baby gauna plant and will find a sunny place for it in the front yard sometime soon.
And finally: After arriving at home, I was still all kinds of motivated, so I angry-pruned till 9:00. It was getting dark, I was wet, my glasses were raindrop-spotted and my glove's middle finger had a thorn stuck inside it so I figured it was time to wind things down.
Just learned that the mall will open Wednesday, and hopefully with it, my favorite sushi place!!!
Here's hoping!
