8 Months Old

Look at this beautiful child.
She has two teeth now. I love her so much.

At work: Today's mantra was "Don't sledgehammer the work machines. Don't sledgehammer the work machines," repeated ad infinitum or until the feeling of wanting to sledgehammer the work machine dissipated.

I was so mad at this stupid thing:
For the uninitiated: this is a self-bobbin-filling machine, which is such a cool feature when it works. Today, it did not work, and the urge to swear was strong. I thought I placed the bobbin in the right position but apparently I didn't, because instead of filling up the bobbin with black thread, the thread went around the spindle instead and made a huge, tightly packed mess. It made me feel like a sewing kindergartener.

The day ended up okay though; I sewed the ends of bonnet strings - my first bonnet experience. I also took this nifty picture of a maple tree about to drop 70 million babies onto the pavement below:
At home: On Sunday, I made a fun new game to help myself be more productive, and it worked well again today: I did laundry, weeded my plants in the front yard, and continued crocheting a new afghan for C, who chose the yarn. Yay productivity!
Hubby and I went to Target to exchange the earbuds we bought on Sunday for new ones. The first pair wouldn't connect to my phone no matter what we tried (of course they paired with Hubby's phone just fine), so tonight we bought these, which are currently playing Get Up Offa That Thing and changing my life forever:
Can't wait to use them to avoid all the coworker drama at work. Seriously though, they'll be very handy when I'm getting up and walking around the studio - I won't have to drag my phone everywhere.

We had Arby's for dinner, and while eating, Neenaw called to tell me how much she loved the pic of Baby R in her bonnet and sweater. "I really like your grandbaby," she laughed. Such a funny thing to hear my 97-year-old grandmother say. It's pretty amazing to be in the middle of these two generations.

Plans are in place for a Father's Day trip to the beach. I'm very happy right now.
