IKEA

After three days straight of catching up the laundry, it was time for some fun.  Brennan and I escaped to IKEA for a while this afternoon.  We tried out their cafeteria, buying some spinach and cheese crepes - meh - and looked around at living room and dining room furniture.  I took a couple of pictures of possible future purchases, something for our future new television to sit on.  Also noted were the dining room chairs and a long, long bench for the piano (which was free and came to us benchless).  We were disappointed to find that part of the store was being remodeled and the plant Brennan planned to buy wasn't available.  Maybe next time.

We picked up Bella from school, and Carter and Rosalind came home and I picked up Harrison.  We had about an hour to play before the Wednesday night shuffle kicked in.  Bella and Harrison had early Mutual, as the kids were all going to west stake to visit the Life of Christ event, and had to wear church clothes.  Oh the howling from one Holt boy.  Hubby took Carter and Rosalind to Rosalind's soccer practice and Bella, Harrison and I went to pick up Brittany La... at her house.  Once they were dropped off at the church, I took off for the hospital to pay another visit to cousin Joe.

Joe had surgery earlier in the day and had two bulging discs removed and three vertebrae fused together.  Ouch!  When I arrived at his room, he was fast asleep, and I went to the hospital cafeteria to hunt down some dinner.  I ended up with a gigantic plate of fettucine Bolognese, which sounded and looked nice, but was too much.  Back at Joe's room, I discovered his brother James was also visiting.  I also hadn't seen James for years, so it was nice to see him.  We spent the evening watching TV and chatting about Joe's surgery and new eating plan, as he is a newly-diagnosed diabetic.  Oh, and Gl3nn B3ck (I am not a fan).

Once outside, I noticed the rain was looking a little fat, and a few minutes later found myself driving home in a snowstorm.  It was beautiful but unnerving - fortunately no bridge lifts this time.  The snow was sticking to the grass pretty well and I knew there was a good chance school would at least be delayed tomorrow morning.  At home, the kids were excited to hear my "It's snowing!" announcement and we let them go out and play in it for a while, though it was late.  We enjoy our snow while it's here, late hours be danged.

Went to bed.
