D.C.O.A.

I don't know, she said she wasn't feeling well earlier today...

Today's big fun: Going to Shmarget and finding THESE. Can't wait to see if they work.

Behold: my cold weather clothes (minus sweaters). Oh hell yeah.
Also, I finally bought a new toilet seat (our old one screams "THIS HOUSE WAS A FLIP") and an under-the-bed shoe storage thing. My poor bedroom will finally see some relief from my seasonal clothing switch clutter (and maybe the other kinds, too).

Bryton and I are bringing plants to swap at work tomorrow - I'm getting two tomato plants and Bryton is getting two of these tree babies:
Please live till tomorrow.

Fashion Show at Lunch

This cute kid went shopping today
Worked, and it was great (except for accidentally flashing Heidi my bra - stupid buttonholes!). Came home and listened to an SNL podcast, then met with my beautiful shrink, who says she is proud of me. She is such a treasure.

Later: Smurgerville for dinner. Raspberry shakes and Walla Walla onion rings, yo
Back at home: The Ladies joined me for a rest

Time to make faces.

Independence Day 2023

Festivities are imminent.

The porch and backyard are getting the summer treatment.

The Jello-ing has begun.

It's time to eat! Ribs, hot dogs, chicken, all the sides, soda and water in the coolers

H & Alexis are here!

B's friend June, Sister M and Brother PW are here as well - such a nice group!
What a fun time! Now we're full, hot, and exhausted. Gotta work tomorrow...

Hood River Day

Starting our Sunday off right with some farmers market. R missed out yesterday on getting a cheese stick from Julia Bakery, so we came back to get one for her and stayed to enjoy some time with the Grand-Ladies. B, R, H & Alexis came too.

After dropping off the babes, we headed east. Alexis had never seen Vista House, so we wanted to take her. Approximately 17,000 other folks had the same idea, so we couldn't park and go in, but we had a beautiful drive down the old highway.

Here's a quick snap of the waterfall trolley which looks really fun and is now on our agenda.
We stopped at full sail brewery for lunch, which was incredible.
We had so much fun walking all over town and visiting the little shops.
As we were driving to Hood River, sadly, a wildfire started on the Washington side of the river in Skamania county. Wildfire planes were dropping loads of water on it all day and they were still working on it as we left for home. It was huge.
On the way down the gorge, Alexis had noticed a Dairy Queen with a huge inflatable Blizzard on its roof, and wanted a picture, so we stopped there for dessert on the way home. I love how much it feels like she's one of my own kids.

We were getting into the car in the DQ parking lot when R started bumping into the rest of us like she was a pinball and grunting. Pretty soon all six of us were doing it to each other, in view of all the folks who were in the drive-thru at DQ. Fortunately no one called the cops.

After arriving home, R and I visited the laundromat. Card games were played.

What a great day. I love my family!
