Social Distancing, Day 10

Braved the non-crowds to shop for groceries at Winco today. It was so quiet there, it reminded me of being inside the temple. Good news, they still had a little toilet paper left. We feel well-supplied for the next little while.

Now we're chilling out while Hubby works in bed.
Later: taco chicken in the Crock-Pot, onion soup mix chicken in the oven, and R made chocolate cupcakes with our favorite chocolate sour cream frosting. We had a couple of mishaps but we also ended up with 35 cupcakes (she ate one) for dessert and life is quite grand. Now we're back on the bed chilling.
Dinner: Chicken Tacos
This girl loves all the taco foods!

Then it was Survivor after dinner, then bed.

Social Distancing, Day 9

The Wild Hare bonnets launched yesterday (my favorite is called Chia). Today we shipped 263 orders. My legs are sore from seven hours of nonstop walking and standing. But I'm happy, because my last day of work (for now) was a nice long one.

I brought home two boxes of tags to make and take back to the shop, and I was also approved for the grocery shopper gig I signed up for yesterday. Also, partially due to the shenanigans pictured below, we ordered a new trampoline from Amazon.
Tonight I took the little online course for the grocery shopper thing and continued to rest my legs.

Tomorrow I have absolutely nothing going on and it's weird. I have one more small paycheck coming on April 5 from the bonnet shop (for now) and by then, hopefully the grocery shopping gig will be underway. I also signed up to drive for Uber Eats yesterday. A friend asked if I was going to work three jobs... I don't know, but at this point it's tempting.

Social Distancing, Day 8

Or should I say "NOT Social Distancing"? This morning I learned that Hubby let C go spend the night with his friend S. My face:
I calmed down somewhat during my brisk morning walk. Found a construction site on Mill Plain next to Dutch Bros. It appears they're building a new road and extending 104th:
Here's the other end of the new road, where it comes out, on 105th:
I was walking toward home when I heard someone yell "Mudder!" It was this kid, jogging to buy a drink at Dutch Bros:
She bought her drink and we walked home together via the old church parking lot. Quite cozy.

Later: With my work hours drastically reduced, I decided to see if I could earn money delivering takeout and doing grocery shopping. I filled out everything online and sent in the virtual paperwork. Now I'm waiting to pass the background checks. In the meantime I'm still working at the bonnet shop tomorrow and Thursday, and it sounds like this latest launch garnered a lot of orders.

I also decided that today felt like a good Cheat Day, and ate the Phish Food ice cream and Bleu Door cookie I'd been saving in the freezer. Job-looking is stressful, even if you only need a pulse (and a working car) to be hired. Whew.

The city closed the parks and playgrounds today. The trails through the parks are still open, but they're not tempting at all; I find myself just wanting to hunker down in bed right now. The world is a sad place. I feel sad with it.

Social Distancing, Day 7

My face when I write a ginormous post and lovingly arrange many photos for it and BLOGGER EATS IT
Hubby, R, and I went hiking today. We had a fun and funny time. Panther Creek Falls are gorgeous.
Then we had ice cream.

Social Distancing, Day 6

Morning: Breakfast and walk (see pics below). It's rather chilly out.

Walking by this tree, these blossoms smelled sweet and amazing
Note to self: go back in a few days to see these trees at the old church in bloom
Came home, changed clothes, popped an allergy pill, now watching Indiana Jones movies under a blanket on the couch.

Hubby and the kids are mobilizing to make a trip to the dump. C & R have already been out running (R went to Dutch Bros) and riding their bikes. H filled his tires and went riding too. We are loving being outside so much.
Afternoon: Hanging with these two. Baby R was in serious mode.
Later: Spent some time weeding my little garden. My strawberries survived the winter and have new growth! Exciting!
This patch, we'll save for another day.
Evening: I ate cookies for dinner. Tomorrow will be a better day.

Social Distancing, Day 5

Good morning. After a weird night's sleep (I need to stop napping during the day), we slept in till after 8. I've since showered and played around with my hair:
And Hubby is very tempted to shave off his beard today. I took a "Before" shot just in case. We'll see what the morning brings.

After (which garnered a disgruntled shriek from R):
Practically naked!!!!!

Later: Enjoyed a lovely walk around the hood. It's SO NICE outside!

I liked what this neighbor did with their front door area. I need inspiration:

Spent some time sprawled out in the grass at Ellsworth Elementary. The ground feels just cool enough to temper the warmth of the sun.
But MAN my ankles are icy milky white!

Back at home: Pop Pop and Baby R just chillin:
Sweetness itself.

Spent time chatting with friendies on Marco Polo again - that app is saving my social bacon. And folded clothes. And washed windows.

R and I enjoyed errands together this afternoon. It's my payday, so we ran downtown to grab my check, only to find out that it had been mailed earlier in the day. Oh well. The drive was gorgeous. I ended up grabbing some cash from the bank, then we ran up to the gas station to try to put air in R's bike tires, a sadly fruitless and frustrating attempt. So now she and Hubby will be heading to the store for a bike pump.

Evening: Looks like R and I are trading bikes! I was worried that I was just imagining that mine was too tall for me, but Hubby was looking at it tonight and the measurements were right there on the front. R's is now too small for her, so there we go. The pump worked well; Hubby and the daughters enjoyed some bike time; and I'm not crazy. Yay! I love it when that happens!
