Friendy Friday

It's been a big busy day. We picked up our rental car, and I drove it home and picked up B for work. Hubby and R are staffing this weekend's soccer tournament.

Here I am laundering sleeping bags for tomorrow's trip. They were a bit smelly when we used them at Mount Rainier... I guess being trapped in the garage all winter will do that.

Next: Goodwill for Left-Right game prizes
Look at this Chewbacca mug. LOOK AT IT
Lunch at Killer Burger with Sandy

More running back and forth between Hubby, B, and R, more errands, wrapping of gifts, and dinner with my lovely Heidi:
we had a great time and didn't get in trouble for talking too much

Seriously, at one point during dinner, I looked across the table and was so delighted to realize that we could talk AS LONG AS WE WANTED, and no one was hovering nearby to eavesdrop or interrupt or clear her throat at us. We could just talk! Simply amazing. We had such a great time!

Summer Solstice 2023

Went to work. Ate a burrito from Smuchas Gracias (parked on the street by the church so I could eat lunch in peace). Tried to nap. Vacuumed. Laundry. Shrink appointment - cried a lot. More laundry and decluttering in the garage. Looking forward to Jeopardy!, dinner, a bath, and bed. It was another blue day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I should plan something.

Bluesday

Woke up feeling a bit cruddy but thought, work always cheers me up (right? How crazy, yet nice, is that?).

But THEN I arrive at work, and... According to the human resources department, I didn't work here anymore.

It was weird because last Thursday, I started receiving emails from the college about "fixing my problem", which were then unopenable because I no longer had access to my email account! Then we had the long weekend, and then today, when I arrived at work but had no access to my computer, IT was finally contacted and everything was fixed.

Also, my sweet little Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday schedule is no more. Apparently in my job classification, I can't have a set schedule, so my shifts will get a bit more varied.

All that to say it's been a weird and kind of unpleasant morning at work, so I cheered myself up (somewhat) by taking pics.
(I hadn't seen this one before today and it made me happy)

My favorite coworker and me

So, you know, life is good. Everything is fine. Hiccups are inevitable.

This email excerpt helped greatly:

Juneteenth 2023

Did nothing but play Sims and plan a trip with some friends. Not a thing. It was great.

Father's Day 2023

Brunch: French toast, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit, juice, coffee (we should have taken a "before" pic)

All five kids were here. Color me thrilled! We ate, chatted, took pictures, and Hubby opened gifts.

DOGS AND CATS, LIVIN TOGETHER

...mass hysteria!

The Ladies did a great job of sleeping in the tent all night last night. They came inside a bit cold and tired, but had fun.

A few weeks ago, Hubby asked R, Hannah, and roommate K if they would play on his team for a scrimmage this morning. I decided to tag along with them, but forgot to bring a chair, so I'm listening to the countdown (it's a good one!) in the car and checking on them every so often. It's an interesting weather day.

Later: The sun came out! And H and A stopped by!
After these shenanigans, we had creamy Italian chicken (Crock-Pot) and pasta and watched TV while the kids did their stuff. What a great day.

This Girl

....jumped up and demanded pets, which ended up making me sneeze. Silly girl.

We had a lovely day at home. I spent the day cleaning and organizing the kitchen and giving the rest of the upstairs The Treatment, while M and the girls received a mysterious package from Grannie. Hmmm.
So much fun! They're excited to try it out tonight!

Also: Hubby took the day off to pick up R and bring her home. Hannah came with them to stay for the weekend. It's a good thing we brought home a load of her stuff last weekend. The car was just big enough for the rest...
M made tacos for dinner and cookies for dessert, we feasted, I had a fun phone chat with H, B took off to spend the evening with friends, and a cozy time was had by all. Life is good.

The Day

Work: retrained on closing procedures for when Dan leaves on vacation.

Went home with B. Mowed the lawn. Picked up Hubby. Messed around with the babies, pretended their tiny Barbie-sized backpack was (gross grandmother alert) a bag to catch boogers, thereby naming it the Booger Bag.

Watched "Jeppery," Miss C's name for her most hated game show (as in "No, I don't wanna watch Jeppery!"). Hubby went to practice and I watched a movie and fell asleep on the couch.

"There's no need to state the obvious"

Is traffic slow right now? Is it??

Work was great as usual. Folks are still picking up their Cap'n Gowns and commencement is happening tomorrow. The overplanner in me goes insane at the idea of picking up such an important item this late in the game. Dan says graduates have shown up at the venue on the evening of commencement and picked up their regalia there, right before it starts.

::::shudder::::

Took a huge nap, picked up Hubby and B, came home, wrestled the Ladies. Hubby and I drove to Sharmony for his newest team's practice; I went grocery shopping and picked him up after. Dinner and home.

Life is good and boring and good. I'm grateful.

hey, look

Books!

You'd think I'd see enough books from all the time I spend working in a bookstore and hanging out at the public library, but, no.

The bookstore I work in needs comfy chairs in which to sit and enjoy the merchandise. Currently in my face:
I ended up buying it.

Later: This beautiful girl saying CHEESE
...and her beautiful sister cozing on the couch

Ohanapecosh Campground

It's always a good time when you wake up in a national park.

The new tent!
One last look at the river...
On the way home: Riffe Lake
