Oh we're having some fun today.

At Last

Hubby and I slept in, then went out for breakfast and did a few Uber Eats orders.

Once we were home again, my sewing machine parts were delivered, so I set everything up and spent the rest of the day sewing the masks I cut out before Memorial Day.

My cute little old sewing machine is so leisurely (we won't call it "slow") compared to the industrial machines at work. It just patiently trucks along. I kept stepping on the pedal to make it go faster.

I love that it still works, and that I was able to find parts for it - we bought it before B was born.

For these first masks, the "guinea pigs", I used old fabric of Neenaw's that I wasn't in love with, which ironically, the kids love. Everyone has dibs on at least one style.

I've been experimenting with ties and ribbon ear loops and elastic ear loops. The two masks below have ties made from packaged bias tape, sewn into strings (tedious but so satisfying). The fabrics, ribbons, and elastic ribbon I have are mostly random and mismatched, so putting them together has been an adventure. I'm trying to use up the supplies I have before buying more, though.

Also: Tonight Hubby did his first solo stint of Uber Eats. He enjoyed it and made a nice amount. Yay Hubby!

"Getting Ship Done"

That joke never gets old.

I had a much busier day working in shipping today. Whew! Look at all the shipping happening!

It was a fun day. My production co-workers came over and chatted me up every so often. I enjoy them.

Later, C and I took all the shipments to the post office. Barbara and I just walk in the back of the PO and drop our stuff off.  The post office people are used to it, but C was so astonished, he climbed on the car.

After work, I did a thing in the living room:

The wood thing is my old plant stand. It wasn't a great plant stand - Chad and Wednesday were fond of knocking it over. But it fits right inside the fireplace and looks cozy holding our lanterns and candles. Now to keep Baby R away from it! A fireplace screen would be a good idea.

We spent some time at Home Depot tonight. Hubby bought a new socket set and I bought some hardware for hanging up more crap on the walls. We've been gifted a lot of art and decor that has been leaning up against pieces of furniture for quite a while and I'm getting tired of it being there instead of up on the wall where it belongs.

Hubby helped H install a new battery into H's car tonight. That car likes to break down about every third day; it keeps H on his toes.

Ship Shape

Today and tomorrow, I am covering shipping for Barbara while she spends time with family. 

Today was an easy day and I was finished with the shipping and everything else I could think of to do by noon. So I talked to Hubby, and we decided to have me bring him lunch and take him to the building where they keep the work cars so he could bring one home.

After dropping him off and heading home, this was an interesting sight to see. They lift bridges here all the time but seeing one actually lifted is kind of a weird experience. It feels eerie.

I was relieved to find that the bridge clicked back into its spot again. Whew!

At home, I spent some lovely time with this child who is very fond of her awesome sippy cup:
