Stuff I Dug Today
I'm not in the mood to try to make up clever titles for blog posts.
First, on the way home from work/school:
Then, on today's walk: no rain. Color me dry and happy.
Later: found some forest at R's soccer practice.
I was tempted to disrobe, smear myself with mud, stand on a stump and sing the song of my people, but thought better of it. It is January.
Also found this RV. DUDE.
Food, bathroom, warmth, TV, a freaking BED, right there in the middle of the soccer parking lot? How brilliant are these people?
I was feeling pretty well off with Sherlock the minivan, a Wendy's salad, the car radio and a bag of crap to do. But clearly my game needs UPPED.
(it was tasty)
Also: this has me wheeze-laughing.
Sorry it's gross.

Grocery Shopping at WinCo
But first: I'm sorely - SORELY - tempted to buy a box of hair color and see where the day leads me.
Also: "DON'T SHUT YOUR SISTER IN THE CAR DOOR"
And now: They found the toy aisle.

Today was good. The shop continued to warm up a bit more. The sale is going well. Tami and Katie from Design wore cute shoes and now I have to go shoe shopping.
But then....when don't I.
Played with Baby R for a while tonight. She's such a good smiley girl.

A Good Omen For The Future
And that would be seeing, as I walked into work today, a guy wearing a hard hat climbing a ladder up to the roof of the shop, an official-looking white van parked next to him.
He came inside the shop later, did more ladder climbing, fiddled around doing whatever, and slowly but surely the temperature crept from low 50s to ALMOST 60. And the bonnet ladies and gentleman stripped off at least one layer and wept for joy.
We're going to make it.
Happy MLK Day, all.

Snarkasm*
Glorious sunshine and blue skies today. Hubby and I slept late. He picked up C & R from their overnights at Noah's and Tatum's houses. R was adorable when she hugged me hello - "Mudder, I looked so pretty."
Hubby and I ventured downtown to use the Bleu Door Cafe gift certificate I received at our work Christmas party. It was packed, so we took a side jaunt to the Urban Eccentric vintage clothing store - SUCH cool stuff - and the antique mall (also SUCH cool stuff).
Had brunch with beignets at the cafe. My omelet and his biscuits and gravy were tasty. Grabbed a couple cookies for later.
We came home, hung out, watched football and de-Christmased the house.

Winter Formal
This cute girl...
...and three of her friends are out on a date.
My bracelet ;)
This afternoon they had manicures together, then got ready at Tatum's house, and then we met there for pictures. Now the girls are off to Beaches for dinner, and then to the dance.
Have fun, ladies!
After pictures, Hubby and I took off for Ye Olde Spaghetti Factory, where this cute guy was our server:

"Sometime Between Now And Dead*"
Work was short, and quite nice, today. I made sure to dress more warmly (it was 51° in the shop, BOOOO) and my numb hands eventually warmed up. My plans for a new birthday piercing came up in shop conversation, and the coworkers were excited for me. It was sweet.
About twenty minutes before I left, Katie from Marketing popped over with a nice big grocery bag full of bonnets that the photographer had still hanging around from past shoots. They have to be counted, tagged, added to inventory, and put away... B and I just laughed. Oh Marketing, you keep us on our toes.
I could only get these done.
Then: I took this one out for lunch.
She asked me the other day what I normally do for lunch, and I said, "Work through it." This was an unsatisfactory response and she suggested that I pick her up from school and we go get lunch somewhere, sometime. Today was a good day for it.
Took the kid back to school, came home, then drove back to pick up kids from school and Hubby (back to work for a short day) from the bus stop. Once we were home: GINORMOUS naps.
Spent some time this evening on the bonnet Facebook group, reading comments from the Grab Bag bonnet customers. Most of them were happy. It makes sense. Most of the bonnets were pretty cute, but some, I'm afraid, were butt ugly.

"Imagine Being Canadian.*"
It's so cold today.
Hubby is home again (Day 3), but has improved enough that he will go back to work tomorrow.
Tonight we went to Shari's for dinner. Just blowing right through this weight loss thing! At least it's making me more aware of what I'm doing, versus what I need to do.
And now: Nothing on earth is cuter than my almost-3-month-old granddaughter learning about dinosaurs with her dinosaur flash cards (when she wasn't cramming them in her mouth).
