A good, gentle day.

Saw a beautiful sunrise. Met a new coworker. Made my boss laugh. Learned that my department won't be moving to a windowless warehouse. Ate cookies. Looking forward to increased coziness at home this evening.

I really think that Facebook causes anxiety, or at least makes it worse. Instagram too. Looks like it's Reddit or Twitter or blogging for me now.

Sweetheart

I had a hard morning, and she knew that I was feeling yucky. So she set up Scrabble for us. I love this girl.

Veterans Day Parade 2019

As always, it was held at Officers Row. We had fine weather, until it STARTED RAINING. Hubby and I were completely unprepared. Stupid Alexa never mentioned rain!

We saw some old ward peeps - the Russells, the Crandalls, Renee' R (my absolute favorite - had to hug her) and Craig H, another favorite church dude.

And now, a story:
A young boy fell on the ground near the street and had a tonic-clonic seizure. His mom knelt next to him and held him and whispered in his ear and brushed his hair away from his eyes - a familiar and sad scene. This was me holding Harrison about a decade ago. A man sitting under the tree next to us held his umbrella over their heads as the seizure waned. Hubby and I spoke to the amazingly calm mom (so she wouldn't feel weird) about our experiences with Harrison, and she was relieved to hear that a lot of kids simply grow out of it. Hopefully her son will too. The boy regained consciousness just in time to see a group of Storm Troopers and a couple of Boba Fetts walk by in their costumes.

As we were conversing with the mom, Craig heard our voices and turned to see us. We chatted for a few minutes and eventually he asked us the inevitable question - where we live now - and we told him, we're back in the old ward with him and all of our most favorite people. He asked how long ago we moved in, we told him - over a year ago.

Man, the tension!! Hubby and I eyeballed each other. Then, after a few more minutes: "But you haven't been coming to church. Aren't you doing church anymore?"

I said "Nope." We told him about Bella and church and the whole deal. He said that if we ever came back, it would sure put a smile on his face. A few more words, some hugs goodbye, and we left.

Now we're waiting for Miss R to make her appearance and taking her out for biscuits and gravy.

Stability

It occurred to me today that I still love and miss my childhood home and wish my family still owned it now. I hate that we had to move away from it. I miss the stability it represented.

So that's it. We bought a house and we're staying here forever. I want that for my kids.

Before General Conference Starts...

... I want it out there that I love you LGBTQ members, and that you're perfect the way you are, and God loves you too.

If any LDS church leader says anything horrible to you and you start to feel sad, you come over and sit by me. We'll play Mad Libs.
