I'm guessing 2013.

Today was Take Your Child To Work Day, and Hubby did the honors. The kids had a wonderful day learning about all things Hubby's Work. First a little handcuffing of the siblings:

And then - this was a new thing - a mock trial. Carter was the suspect (of committing light treason, probably).

YW Hungry Hungry Hippos

Like the kids' board game, but with more laughing and injuries. It was seriously one of the funnest activities we'd ever had.

Fun With Masking Tape

Bella had a doctor appointment, we had Roz with us, and Roz became bored. She wanted to play with my phone, but I only have one game (which she thinks is boring) and then... I discovered I had a roll of masking tape in my bag. And why not.

So I said, "Why don't you tape Bella up?"

Bella, being awesome, was totally game for it. And there you go. 

DNA Test Results!

I visited Ancestry.com to register my mom's DNA test, and suddenly KABOOM there were my results.

<1% North Africa, 99% Europe. 

I'm DYING to know more about the North Africa. It's considered a trace amount and therefore may not even be part of my DNA, as in they could just be yanking my chain, but it's fun and exciting to think of. North Africa is considered to be "modern-day Morocco, Algeria, Western Sahara and Libya. These countries, along with Mauritania and Tunisia, are often referred to as the Maghreb. It's an area of stark contrast, with the hospitable Mediterranean coast to the north and the vast, harsh Sahara to the south. In fact, the majority of the population in this region lives within about 50 miles of the Atlantic or Mediterranean coasts."

Can't wait till my mom gets her results back! WOOT!

She wanted her makeup done the way I did it for Halloween. Cute thing.

Tried a New Hot Chocolate Place Downtown

It was...adequate. :)

I'm sure if one is a coffee drinker, one might find something one likes at this cute little place. We had the hot chocolate. We liked the art books - people can take one of the shop's books and draw something in it.

It's always fun for Hubby and I to get away in the morning and find something tasty to eat for breakfast.

Grannie and the Ceramics Place

Grannie came over for a visit. We started the day with a trip to the mall...

Then we headed to the local paint-your-own-ceramics place and each of us chose a project to glaze. Grannie had never heard of such a thing. We had fun painting our stuff.

Finally we stopped at DQ for a treat.

The Local Genealogical Society

Took a walk over to the nearby genealogy place. On the way there, I stopped at the archery place and had a nice chat with owner and fellow stake member Megan M. She and her husband Joe are in charge of Trek this year and we've had fun getting to know them as Hubby has served as a committee member.

Then on to the society. I found some nice people and some books and stuff.

I grabbed a schedule of their upcoming events and was excited to see that a webinar was planned for this evening, but was utterly disgusted later to find this sign on the door. All that walking for NOTHING.

Dude. Not cool.

That Personality Test Thing

I took THE personality test again today, and found out I haven't changed much since last time. But I found this new-to-me graphic, which I really like - especially the one on the right that outlines the things I absolutely cannot handle. It's spookily accurate.
