Wonderings

Checking out some hot dog buns from the family reunion camping trip, wondering if they have deer lick on them. We caught a deer sneaking food from our tent. Loser! Go eat some leaves like everyone else!  I tossed 'em, I wasn't taking any chances.

Melanie says, "Ewww, deer cooties! I wonder if they carry any diseases that are communicable with humans?" And then we were off. Check it out.

I am soooooo ready to have these children start school. Why is it they can find a myriad of things to do in the great outdoors where they have NOTHING, then come home to a houseful of things to do and spend the day saying "I'm bored"?

One thing I don't have to wonder about: DQ makes everything allllll better.

Family Reunion: The Day After

What a fun family reunion! Loved seeing Grannie and Grandpa, sibs, nieces and nephews. Back to real life today, including finding the floor underneath the dirty clothes and sleeping bags and ice chest and camping gear and.....
Being dragged behind a boat. I probably deserve it

Today I am grateful that I married the right guy. Only Deity could handle my bad moods as well as he does. (Sorry Hubby.)

In other family-related news, I wish that saying "Just do it and quit throwing a stinkin' fit" worked more often than it does.

Coming Home...How Sweet It Is

It was a great vacation with the family, but getting back home is always the wonderful-est.

On the way home, we tortured the kids with the Carpenters and Chicago power ballads... good stuff. I'm not sure I've ever mentioned this, but on our first date, Hubby finding my Carpenters cassette and telling me he "loved the Carpenters" was a pivotal point in our relationship. I was impressed that he was secure enough in his masculinity to admit it. And not lying about liking them just so, you know, whatever.
