This morning I woke up thinking about decluttering at Mel's house yesterday and feeling disappointed that I don't have a house to declutter today - I mean, other than mine. It got me thinking about how much I love creating orderly spaces and I WANT TO DO IT NOW AND ALWAYS.
So I got busy. I posted a thing on Fakebook for my family and friends about decluttering their homes. Of course most of the offers I received were half-serious and from other states - maybe someday this will be possible, but not now. I did have one local inquiry, which I'm excited (and nervous) about. I'll be meeting with this client next week. I'm sticking with people I know, while I gain experience.
I also thought back to decluttering work I've done lately and in the past, and reached out to my mom, Mel, my old friend Pam, and Kat, to see if they'd mind writing a little blurb about me and my work efforts. Here's what I've received so far. I'm extra grateful.
Concert band wasn't as fun today but I did have a funny conversation with Richard, my fellow third clarinet.
Me: My thirtieth wedding anniversary is on Monday.
Richard: Wow, thirty years! How old were you when you got married - two??
Me: YES.
Richard: I don't know anyone who's done ANYTHING for thirty years.... Think it'll last?
I called Ernie and we chatted, had a great talk about whatever. I mentioned that I'm decluttering at Mel's house and he said he'd love it if I came over to his house and worked on the master bedroom. I'd love to!
R and I went shopping at JoAnn F*brics - beads for her, iron-on patches and pins for me. She makes such beautiful things. I have a big rip in my favorite pair of jeans, and I'm taking a sewing kit over to Sandy's to hem her pants next week. Gotta have a nice new stocked pincushion.
It was a beautiful day. Traffic was slow this afternoon, which allowed me to get a half-decent shot of Hood while crossing the Glen Jackson bridge:
We visited H for dinner at his job. It's always fun to hug him right there in the restaurant - he's always good for a big hug, and it's funny to see the looks on the other diners' faces.
It was a good day.
