A weird day.

Hubby, R and I are all a bit under the weather. R came home early from school, sick, and Hubby made an appointment for a covid test for her. I called in to work to tell them that I'd be staying home with my sick child, and they were of course kind and gracious about it, but they don't want me to come back to work until R has a negative covid test result. Looks like I won't be working for a bit.

In the meantime, I've been extraordinarily tired and could barely keep my eyes open all day. Now I'm wondering what that's about. Covid or blood sugar or trip exhaustion or a few late nights? I hate that we now have to worry about possibly having a deadly disease every time we feel slightly wonky. Just over two years ago, you got sick, popped some cold medicine and felt better in a few days. Maybe you missed a day of work. Now, you worry.

The omicron variant is hitting the community. R's district has scheduled remote learning for the middle schools and high schools for the rest of the month due to a school bus driver shortage. Games and activities are being canceled. R says that 35 teachers and staff are out with covid, just from her school alone.

I'm getting kinda sick of this pandemic.
