Seeds and I'M SICK OF DRIVING

We were up early this morning for an early soccer game and Carter's basketball jamboree. He had to be at his school by 8:00, so I first dropped Hubby and Bella at their soccer game spot. The gate was still locked and three or four cars were waiting to get in. Hubby got out, messed with the lock, called someone who knew the combination and let us all in.

Then off to drop Carter and run to the store for snacks, an important basketball ritual since I always have Rosalind with me. And we never have snacks at the house. They get eaten. At Winco we enjoyed the beautiful potted flowers outside (I bought some tiny narcissi yesterday while grocery shopping) and must have been inspired, because along with our snacks, Roz and I each chose a packet of seeds - cherry tomatoes for her, lavender for me. I don't know that she's ever eaten a cherry tomato.
Back at Carter's jamboree, I noticed the school was also hosting one of quite a few Republican caucuses (cauci?) for our area. Oh yeah, I totally forgot! I took Rosalind inside and saw probably thirty people milling around, and Paul Ha..., a member of our last ward and candidate for some city office a couple years ago, setting things up and calling announcements out to the group. I looked up the email from the Rhy....s and found my precinct and saw that I was in the wrong place for my precinct, and that I wouldn't get a chance to participate this time, as we would be busy until it ended.

BUT. I did text Pam Tu..., and she took Jaela and went to ours, and man, she whipped people into shape. We texted back and forth for a while - at first she was surrounded by Newt groupies, but they soon saw reason: all delegates from our precinct voted for Mitt Romney. SWEET! I've never been involved in choosing a candidate to this extent before. I wasn't there, but I knew when and where the caucus was happening and what precinct we live in - that's progress.

In sports news, Bella's team won 3-0 and she came back from the game completely covered in mud. Carter did well in his games; I chatted up a couple of the team moms and fed Rosalind snacks from our black polka dot lunch bag.

As his last game was ending, Bella and Hubby arrived with Sammi L... and afterward we went to lunch at McDonald's. Rosalind played in the PlayPlace, but Carter now thinks he's too old. Bella and I walked over to check out Chuck's Produce but found it's closed on Saturdays, and I remembered hearing that the owners are Seventh-Day Adventists and their Sabbath is on Saturday. So we walked to River City Music and played with instruments and talked to the darling electric bass-playing shopguy. He showed us the empty shop where our fudge shop will be moving soon; apparently the complex is expecting us.

Dropped Hubby and Carter back at the school for Carter's soccer game, then brought the girls home and put the kids to work cleaning the kitchen and dining room. Took Harrison over to friend Thomas' house. When I came home, Brennan and Bella had decided to see the new(ish) Sherlock Holmes movie at the three dollar theater, so I took them there, then ran back up to pick up Hubby and Carter. Took our friend David Mo... home.

Spent the rest of the day in the car, basically; another trip to Winco, Safeway to rent movies, and the post office. We also went to the mall to look at new wedding rings, and spent some fun time at the silver jewelry kiosk looking at some weird ones. I want the one with the eyeball.

Also, Carter got hold of my cell phone today:
