"Don't make me go to church tomorrow," Brennan begged us yesterday, and we figured it's hard enough for a depressed kid to go to 9:00 church without adding Daylight Savings Time in the bargain. Also, we're under a week away from getting Amy Fisher's new tabs, but until then there are only so many of us that can go to church at the same time. So it ended up being only Bella and me going to church.
I taught my Sunday lesson to the Beehives, and the Laurels joined us since Brandee was out of town. It was a good time - we ended up discussing the dead people we look forward to meeting someday (we were quoting a Colossians scripture reference and Joni mentioned that the Apostle Paul is on her list of "someday meets"). We also returned the Tu...'s house key.
After church, Hubby and I snuggled and watched TV and got up around 3:00 to make Sunday dinner: enchiladas, salad, and peach dump cake with vanilla ice cream. Yummy, yummy stuff. The kids played - Carter and Rosalind made an enormous fort in the living room that they want to sleep in tonight. The kids have a two hour late start tomorrow morning so we told them we could; they're all excited.
Bella had a presidency meeting at 4:00 so I took her to church and the food was ready when I came home. On the way home, I drove by Grandma and Poppy Keithler's old house and missed Grandma (I would miss Poppy too if we'd met). I imagined her in her dress and apron and clean little house, making something wonderful for Sunday dinner, her house filled with the smell of great food, all of us crowded around her table. I missed being little and in Brookings and up at my grandparents' house. What a wonderful childhood I had, being around them so much. I wish my kids had that opportunity.
After dinner, I spent some time online, then decided it was game time. We played Yahtzee and Uno with the three youngest. Harrison and Carter had haircuts (Harrison's needed fixing) and showers.
