Orchestra Tonight!

And I rocked it!

Since the orchestra had a gig last week, which I was unable to attend, only a handful of people showed up tonight - pretty much one or two instrumentalists per section. I was the only clarinetist and man, did I feel wigged, since I'm still pretty new, hadn't played for years before I joined, and am not quite sure the conductor is keen on me being there (just me being insecure and weird as usual).

But since it was a sight-reading night, and we played stuff that was either familiar or that I had previously practiced, I did well and was *very* proud of how I sounded, even all by myself. It was invigorating and lovely, especially with the crappy week I'd already been having at work.

I'm really glad I joined the orchestra. Even with the unsettling news that before I can join the orchestra at their next performance, I will have to AUDITION (because I'm new), I'm still having a great time.

Now to keep it up so I'll be welcome to play with them in May...

P.S. These showed up via UPS today. Mom bought them for my birthday. Color me in love. Thanks Mom :)
