I calmed down somewhat during my brisk morning walk. Found a construction site on Mill Plain next to Dutch Bros. It appears they're building a new road and extending 104th:
I was walking toward home when I heard someone yell "Mudder!" It was this kid, jogging to buy a drink at Dutch Bros:She bought her drink and we walked home together via the old church parking lot. Quite cozy.
Later: With my work hours drastically reduced, I decided to see if I could earn money delivering takeout and doing grocery shopping. I filled out everything online and sent in the virtual paperwork. Now I'm waiting to pass the background checks. In the meantime I'm still working at the bonnet shop tomorrow and Thursday, and it sounds like this latest launch garnered a lot of orders.
I also decided that today felt like a good Cheat Day, and ate the Phish Food ice cream and Bleu Door cookie I'd been saving in the freezer. Job-looking is stressful, even if you only need a pulse (and a working car) to be hired. Whew.
The city closed the parks and playgrounds today. The trails through the parks are still open, but they're not tempting at all; I find myself just wanting to hunker down in bed right now. The world is a sad place. I feel sad with it.
