Last Day of School

First some science-y wisdom from Carter:

"It's a little known fact that if you pull off a lizard's tail, it'll grow back. But if you pull it off again, the lizard'll be like, "Dude."

Today was Rosalind's last day of elementary school, which equals the end of a long era for our family. No more school supply lists including crayons and paints. Awww! Sad! I met her after school and we hugged people goodbye - I will admit that I cried when I hugged and said goodbye to certain teachers and a particular secretary who "loves her Rosalind." We have loved this school and the staff.

With her friend Rylee

With Ms.W. She was also Carter's first grade and
fifth grade teacher, and we are huge fans. We're going to stalk
her at her new school this coming year (shhh, don't tell her).

Miss Judie the secretary. Oh goodness,
how we love this sweet woman.

Note the Kleenex. Lots of bawling.

Mr. K, who was never Roz's teacher but had a fun trick
of shaking a kid's hand and leaving behind a piece of candy or sticker
or eraser. He was also "really funny."
Ms. F, one of our favorite crossing guards,
best known for her Gummy Bear Fridays.
After school, some of the school families met at the nearby park (close to our old house) for the yearly end-of-school picnic. Here's a group shot of the kids:
