New Phone = No Blogging
I have a new phone (as of now I've had it a few weeks) and it's making blogging not a happy experience. It screws up the photos something fierce and I'm not a fan. Hence, no blogging. I probably need to fix the settings so the photos will show up the way they're supposed to, or I guess I could just write, but that's not as fun.
Otherwise, life continues and I'm doing pretty well. I've been watching quite a few Tick Tock videos about things I want to start doing, like gardening, quilting, and canning food, and Pinnterest is also inspiring me to get busy. Everyone in the family is fine and healthy. The granddaughters are growing like weeds.
Today I'm at work. I'm covering this week for Dan, who is on his annual family trip to the beach, and it's the week after graduation and the store is duller than dirt - a good time for him to be absent. I'll be working some long days this week (really, just full time for three days, but I'm a lightweight part-timer) but the money will be nice.
I have some goals for summer. One thing I have planned is to build a PVC pipe playhouse for the girls - we have all the supplies, but we need to find a good blueprint for it online, and then build it. I also have a strawberry plant that I need to get into the ground. Uncle J and Aunt K will be bringing a dresser set to us at the end of July, and we'll have to clear space for those items. The decluttering of the garage and basement continues.
I've been quite busy with cutting out yo-yo circles and quilt squares for future projects. I have this weird malady where I walk into certain businesses, and little bits of fabric find their way into my hands. It's so weird. Along with all the new little bits I keep buying, I have all of my old stash, Neenaw's old stash, fabric grab bags from thrift stores and estate sales... seriously though, I think I'll have to ground myself from buying fabric for a while. It's not like our house has much storage space.
Speaking of the house, after waffling around pretty much since we moved in about whether we'd stay there or try to find something bigger to buy in order to fit everyone, we've decided to stay put. This was a situation that I've never addressed on the blog (that I know of) but it's been on our minds quite a bit. We're thinking of ways to improve the place, and anticipating that someday in the future, there will be more space as more people can afford to move out. Earlier this month I painted a wall for the first time.
And I'm sad and anxious a lot, honestly. Exercise helps my mental health, but fitting it in this week will be a challenge. I need physical activity, even if it's just my hands. Sewing on the job is unfortunately frowned upon - though I did bring my latest yo-yo project to work on, during my lunch break. Thank goodness I can blog at work and it looks like I'm doing something work-related!
Time with family and friends also helps, and I"m trying to incorporate those times into my days more often than I had been.
Just paddling along, still.
