Out Walking

Feeling well enough to enjoy a long stroll after work, on a lovely summer day

The Big Weed Returns!

just look at it being all threatening

Hubby and I needed to get out of our room, so we took off and bought some KFC (which led to the decision to start keeping frozen chicken strips, boxed mashed potatoes and a tube of refrigerator biscuits in the house at all times). We weren't thrilled with the food, but it was good to get out.
As usual, I've been keeping busy with the laptop, playing Sims and working on a family history spreadsheet.

The thing I'm noticing about my relatives who were born around 100 years ago is that their parents had a bad habit of giving their boys names that for the most part sound female. Most of the guys had okay names as far as guessing what gender they might be, so maybe I'm wrong, but I have a feeling Joseph Laverne, Alva Ordell, and Max Eloise would have words with anyone who said otherwise.

Recovering

WARNING: Post contains nud1ty and farting

Still in bed with this stupid virus.
I started coloring this bird picture:

Later, I played Sims, and my Sim decided to spend the day in his b1rthday suit. And could I just be an adult and not make a big deal out of it? Oh no, I could not.
(Google: "TK Smoothie")
I have no words for this kind of debauchery.

Let the Coloring Commence

With my magical colored pencils in their festive new Green River Gators mug, anything is possible!
Covid life, man.

Covid, Day One

Slept on and off all day.

Hubby was able to get to the pharmacy before he left for work and get a prescription for me. He and B fed me.

Sick

I started feeling cruddy yesterday and by last night it was pretty obvious that I was sick.
Masked up, I went to work for 4 hours of my 8-hour planned shift. It's a bummer because I was really looking forward to going to the genealogy class tomorrow and having pizza and ice cream (such a kid). After work I headed to the store and bought myself some chicken soup and cold medicine, and I SWEAR this Farting Animals coloring book just jumped into my shopping cart from out of nowhere.
Came home, went to bed.

Tonight I tested myself for covid. It was positive.
Dammit.

Rummage/Estate/Garage Sales/County Fair

We went EVERYWHERE today and made some killer deals. We also ran into folks we knew from our past lives (coaching and church), and had some fun catching up.

Rummage sale at the Presbyterian church: I found these beautiful purple glasses that I knew my friend Suzanne would love. Didn't buy them, but they made me think of her.
I did buy the winter boots, though.
Baked potato fabric. I'm in love. Both fabrics came from a garage sale we later visited.

I liked this driveway, so I took a pic.
Craft Shmarehouse in Shmazel Dell, which we visited while we waited for the fair shuttle. These spigot wall hooks!!!
Advent calendar ideas....
and this cross stitch book:
Then off to the county fair. We had a great time!

Self Care Day

After yesterday's suckfest, I needed to take some time for myself.

Spent some time at the local genealogy society.

B and I went out for lunch at my favorite sushi place.
Still dealing with yesterday's aftermath. It'll be a job to heal from this one.

The Shitty Day

It started off fine, and I greatly enjoyed work.

Then I drove home and all hell started breaking loose.
None of us siblings knew that this was going to happen today. We were absolutely blindsided.

After spending much of the afternoon and evening sobbing and eating sugary crap, and talking/texting with my dear siblings, I am even more determined to focus on the people who know and love me best. The rest will sort themselves out.

It was such a terrible day. But it's over and I'm still here. Life = still good.

Getting Blizzards

A few folks had a hard time finding the drive through and we are now mocking them. It's the little things in life.

Blurry Blizzards
Also on the agenda today was a couple of wonderful hours at the genealogical society library, a nice session with my shrink, and a gigantic nap. It was pretty great.

Growth

Besides being major slobs, there's a reason why we keep dumping the guts from our Halloween pumpkins in the front yard flower bed.

Also: the abutilon that just REFUSES to die, no matter how dead it gets.
In other news: new swingy bob. I've been dying to chop the blonde out of my hair for months but wanted to wait until after the treehouse trip. M helped with the back. (I still don't trust stylists unless it's Tawnee.)
Work was fun today. Our evening was lovely - we recently discovered the TV show Gilmore Girls and have been binge watching it on Netflix. Life is good.

Back To Work

I missed this place, and the people!

My last day of work was July 20th. I was able to peel quite the chunk off my National Parks daily page calendar. Found some bucket list items...
After work: Playground Time
The girls were so cute and played so well with the other kids. They kept calling another little girl "princess" because they thought her hair and her dress were pretty. Little R came over and whispered to me that she wanted to tell one of the little boys a "poop story" and I talked her out of it, because some mommies don't like to hear about poop.

Then: a leaf fell on our windshield and stuck to it. We let the car wash take care of it.
It met the car wash and ::::raspberry noise:::: it was gone.
