Greenery

Day Off, 1 of 20: Doing some yard work. I mowed the lawn, and now I'm weeding the flower bed by the front window. My Mother's Day shrub has miraculously survived its time next to the kitchen window and I'm ready to give it a permanent home.

Five-minuting is the best. You can't do it for every task, but for weeding, especially on a warm day, yes. For my five minutes off, I set up a spot in the shade:
The baby confetti plant looks so tiny. Hope it will like its new spot.

I've been a very brave girl lately so I bought myself this book:
I checked it out from the library a few months ago - it changed my perspective and inspired me to get busy and transform our backyard. I'm excited to get my copy. Yay Thriftbooks!

GOOD NEWSIES: H was offered a managerial position at a Portland location of his restaurant chain. It's a major step up in income for him! We're so proud and happy for him and A. He's doing great!

Hired

As of July 1, my employment at the college will be permanent. I just signed the paperwork today. Sweet!

(Prior to this, I've been a "seasonal" employee - longest ten months of my life.)

Also: We're now into anklet season, the best season of all.

Pick Your Poison

Things have been difficult enough for a while that I have decided to swear off social media platforms, unless my husband and kids are there posting stuff. Then of course I want to see it.

Today's title comes from this morning's session with my shrink. It had been long enough since we talked and enough stuff had occurred that there was plenty for her to advise me about. More than enough, so I told her to pick her poison.

And now I'm just going to keep myself alive. Maybe while I'm at it I'll figure out some way to keep myself out of pain.

Meanwhile: I'm helping make the Christmas ornaments we're giving to all the seniors.
