Sick Day #3
Grrrrr.
I rested all day, again, and texted my supervisor about taking a sick day tomorrow. This cough is going nowhere.
I spent some time with these two ladies in the backyard. The weather was so nice.

Sick Day #2
And it better end with two, that's all I can say.
We had more beautiful weather, but my throat and lungs kept the rest of me in bed all day. Didn't do a thing until Hubby came home with food for me. I ate, and then we took the babies to the playground for a while to tire them out. And tire them out it did. Pop Pop ran them all around that place.
After giving them a snack and changing them into jammies, I took them downstairs and they fell asleep. I got busy in the sewing room. I sorted out patterns and put away a certain project indefinitely or until I can find the second sheet of instructions (!!!). It's nothing important.
Thinking about some summer clothes for me:
I'm eyeballing that cream/orange/green piece pretty hard.
Bad News: The sewing machine shop called today to let me know that the serger is dead. It's not worth the price of fixing. Dang it! Guess I'll have to buy one. I already have the space on the table, so I can't not, right?

Sick Day
I finally caught the cold my kids were passing around before I left. Durn kids!! I'm spending the day recovering in bed.
I did catch these cute gardeners out back, however:
While resting, I worked on this project which has taken years (probably a decade) to complete. It will be beautiful when it's finished, but I'm stitching it on linen and it's the hardest thing I've done in a long time.
Up until the above project, this one was the hardest:
Later: Baby time.
I took them outside, on our newly mowed backyard lawn (thanks, Hubby). I noticed that one of our trees is leaking brown gunk from an old burn injury. Not sure how to tackle this.
In better news, this rhody is having a happy Spring and putting out more blooms than usual.

Working
The entire H clan had a big work day today.
Hubby, M and H had work as usual. I worked my weekly shift AND got some insider info about a possible, more consistent, permanent shift this fall. The job listing will be posted in July. Fingers crossed.
R made it to all of her classes, despite being sick (a COVID home test result was negative). This is significant since she has an advanced case of Senioritis and skips class regularly. Her grades are great, she has a month left, and she's our last kid, so we're phoning it in at this point. I mean seriously.
B started cooking and food prep at his job today and worked a 10 hour shift. Whew!
And C has a new job today! More details to come.
Recent library finds (want to buy a copy of the top book):
And, since B received his diploma from Clark yesterday, I did some shopping at work:
After work, I dropped R at home, grocery shopped, picked up Hubby and made The Soup and The Breadsticks (R's request). I bathed and jammied the babies and everyone ate soup and breadsticks and was happy.
I'm still feeling some level of terrible after yesterday's terrible shenanigans, and shed a few tears at work. But it's healing.
Tomorrow is a big day. Stay tuned!

A Hard Day
...is ending with family and comedy around the TV.
...followed by some time at Vancouver Lake.
Baby R was all about the sand and water. She marched right out into the lake like she owned it, then spent the rest of the time throwing sticks and little wet sand wads into the water. I had to practically drag her back to the car to go home.
Then there was Baby C, who took one step onto the sand, hated how unstable it felt (that's our guess), and stayed in the grass until we left. Here she is with Pop Pop.
After this, there was a Wendy's run, home, jammies and bed.
Hard Day Summary:
1. A counseling session with my shrink. She's proud of my progress but we talked about some hard stuff again. It's always draining.
2. A family member was sentenced for his crimes today. A few of us watched the proceedings on Zoom and two attended in person. It was an embarrassing, devastating shit show. The aforementioned criminal will spend 46 months in prison.
Bright Spots:
1. B received his diploma for his degree from Clark today! We're so proud of him!
2. After my shrink appointment, I took myself to lunch at Youskyme teriyaki restaurant and then bought groceries at Wal-Mart - all without the car. I'm trying to drive less, so this felt good.

Getting This Old Lady Fixed
This machine is special to me. My mom used it to sew many of my clothes and formal dresses in high school. It's been spending most of its time in boxes and on shelves and on the floors of closets for the last few years. Finally, thanks to my sweet family, I have enough fundage to take it in to be all fixed up so it can be useful again.
Also spotted at the shop: CUTE
Later: Spent a fun evening with these ladies.
