The Six Basic Needs

I need to figure a few things out.

1. Food
2. Water
3. Shelter/Clothing
4. Sleep
5. Others
6. Novelty

"You crazy old womern"

(doing my "Oklahoma!" accent)

Feeling better today. I drank coffee for the first time in a few days (I think I've been underestimating its medicinal effects) and so far have been mightily motivated.

1. Adopt One Block: They shipped the free supplies - claw, gloves, and garbage bags - weeks ago, and today was my maiden pick-up-litter voyage around the block. Here's what I found:
Wednesday the black kitty followed me the whole way around. He follows the other family members at night when Goober gets his walk around the neighborhood, too. So cute. It was fun to have company.

2. Today's timer game (every day brings a new one): 15 minutes cleaning or dishes or laundry; the next 15 minutes, same; 30 minutes, either cleaning out the craft room or completing a project. So far, so good.

3. Down in the craft area (aka "Physician, heal thyself"): CRAP I'd love to get rid of.
Some stuff I did:
Unboxed more yardage. Do I have enough? Should I buy more?
Ironed scraps

Made a few nice piles
...and I moved some stuff around, decluttered, just played - mended some stuff, picked apart a pair of old sleeves so I can use the fabric, rolled up a ball of yarn. It was domestic perfection.

Later: Kitty Magenta is snuggling someone in her dreams
And: Baby C is enjoying Frozen for the umpteenth time

Thank FSM For My Shrink

Today she told me to rest. So I am.

Tonight we ate dinner at H's place of employment and met his girlfriend, A (finally!). Her family is visiting from Idaho, and we met them too. They'd never been to the PNW and H has been having fun traveling around with them to all the local stuff. They'd never seen the ocean before and he enjoyed watching them experience it for the first time. A is totally sweet. I have high hopes for them!

Yesterday's trip to J*ann is bearing happy fruit. She's having a great time.

Spring Forward

It's business as usual around here tonight.
That intense little face!

In other news: the laptop is fixed and back home again. I spent the morning with it, playing with obituaries and marriage records. Then, H came over and we ate pizza. M went to work and the babies had a bubble bath and dinner. B saw a movie, and Hubby and R went to shop for swimsuits. There's a trip in the works!

Sunny Saturday Morning

Today was one of those days where the time spent me.

We woke up and wanted to go to Starbucks, which we did, and while we were driving, the oil light popped on. Hubby decided we needed an oil change, so we drove over to the place on Highway 99. I took a walk and found myself at Jo-Ann Fabrics, where the remnants were looking mighty fine. They were also having a sale on McCall patterns and I couldn't resist getting a couple of those as well.
Heaven help me, I can't resist half-price remnants! I ended up buying three pretty pieces.

At home, we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and have Hubby switch out the red light bulbs on the house for green ones, in honor of Saint Patrick's Day and spring. The babies and I joined him outside, and then R and Goober joined us. There was much soccering.
The rest of the day was pretty low-key. R took B to his friend's house for Dungeons and Dragons. We had Subway for lunch, took a nap, and Hubby and R headed out for a soccer game in the rain. C came over for a quick visit; I watched the babies while M went to the store; I did some laundry and dishes and vacuuming.

H is supposed to bring over his new girlfriend before work tomorrow. We're excited to meet her.
